Steve Pizzuti's Evaluvest System

In the 1990s, I started my own firms and I worked through with this attitude of: I didn't want my brokers or myself to get my clients involved with anything that I didn't believe was going to be in their best interests; yes, the best interests of the clients, the individual investors.

And with this ethic in mind, I applied a lot of due diligence on independent research, independent product placements, alternative style research and products for my clients, when building the Evaluvest Stock Analyzer system - that's how I've been able to build my business.

When I say due diligence, I'm talking about – from 1990 to 1997 – spending time researching and analyzing the myriad of different systems and philosophies, which promise stock market success. Morningstar, Value Line and the rest of the other research products; I've tried them all.

In my search for the best, I would take everybody's data and I'd sift it into a computer. Then I would try to spit out ideas that everybody agreed on, to find the common denominators from the value players… Because one firm would have a buy recommendation on Stock X, yet another firm has a sell recommendation on it. Whereas a third firm has a 'hold' on Stock X, and then these other guys have a flat out 'get the hell out you're going to lose your shirt' warning on it.

Nevertheless, these common denominators later became an algorithm, which is the foundation of the Evaluvest Stock Analyzer that I invented.

However, you could definitely say I learnt the hard way. I started making people money and I started learning what really affected stock price movement and what really mattered.

I figured out what the institutions were doing to make themselves money - they weren't listening to other people, they were crunching data. They were crunching numbers. They were taking consensus information and consensus data and putting them into these "Alpha" algorithms.
